THE QUICKENING OF EQUALITY

Equality is having a Holy Love
Before, Beside and Behind you
Equality is Equal Respect
The Essence of All Golden Rules
Why Complicate our Beliefs if not to Hide
These Greater Swords of Truth?
Have we Never been Taught or Learned
To Treat Each Other Lovingly, Fairly,
Honestly?
Equality is not found by following
gods of self and greed or fame
That Capture and Enslave so many Good Souls
Enough! “Basta” Enough!
We are but One Small Planet, Among Many
Our Future Depends On Us
To Deflect All the Negative Forces
Even Comets Now On Our Path
May You Continue to Feel the Quickening
To Allow The Spirit of Love to Guide
So You Will Know, Without Being Told
What is Right To Do!
Homer Diamond Award 1997

“Love One Another”,
“as I have Loved You”,
“Even your enemies”,
“as the only way to make them your friends.”

MORE OF MY EARLY B’S

Maddening anger
Who would trade for all the world
The deep deep lake of passion
Who would trade a child’s delight
For books on synthesized pleasures
Some do trade all these and more
For wars between good and evil
And some will trade all they could be
For false idols of success and fame

ABU ABU EGGS

Take a heaping amount of will Slow Down
Add to a goodly amount Take it easy
Of old fashioned guts Take it slow
There’s still a while to go
Remove the rind of fear
Stir in pain and sorrow as needed A friend once told me
Heat up to infinity Who seemed to know
Life is more blissful
Then cool till the morning comes When you take it slow

ALONENESS

I heard a woman cry out for her mate
While the angel of death stood beside her
No sound was the cry and
Emptiness was her answer
Aloneness
Free as the clouds above
Swishing and swooshing
As the eagle or sparrow flys

THE YIN AND YANG OF THEOLOGY

God, seen through human limited words
Sometimes seems to be partial
Partial to mary who bore god’s child
Partial to a covenant people, a jealous god
Not jealous in a vindictive way
As people sometimes are and justify by
Taking words out of context
The same good book often says
God is “not a god of partiality” *
Those given much, much more is expected
Free will allows us to step out of the palm
Of that strongest hand
When we choose to go our own selfish way
Instead of the best for ourselves as well as all
But what goes around
Will someday come back again

A BALANCED LIFE PITTER PATTER

Love that begins with ourselves
Given to us by loved ones The sea is calm
Extended to others The love is warm
Out into the world Pitter Patter
To the very fullness of life Pitter Patter
Love like sunbeams of sunshine
Always has more than enough for All The music plays
While the dance goes on
Pitter Patter
Pitter Patter

FASTING

I will fast because it is better
To be dead than to be a slave
Much better to go home to god
To be free
My glory will be in heaven
Not here on this earth
Where there is such negativity
I’ll fast to show independence
Of all that is of this world
Much better to be ashes
In the sea to be free
The 70’s

A PRIEST

A Priest is one who hungers for God’s will
To be done on earth as it is in heaven
Who lives love in a charitable way
A shepherd in the valleys of fame and fortune
As well as pain and sorrow, finally death
Offering hope of peace and eternal life
The Priest preserves the old ways
The Prophet points to a better way
The rest are caught in-between

LIFE OUR CHOICE

Life is our choice, to serve God by serving others,
Or serving only self.
Serving others is serving self
To be what only one can best be
Usually it is a matter of balancing fleshly wants and desires
Not too much or too little
An art of life, finding one’s right proportions
Like food or it’s chemical components
An individual effort to stimulate, activate
Our higher-highest interest or aspirations
The quantity of life verses the quality!

ALTARS OF GOD LOVING ONE ANOTHER

Simplicity and yet complexity Loving can break your heart
Is in this altar of God Again and again
A triangle turned around on itself Like thorns that stick us here and there
Squares becoming eternal circles To the quick
Soon a cross stretches out Best to bear the cross of Love
To all the four directions Heal the pain and reach out again
Eventually they meet To sometimes be stung on the roads
On the wings of eternal space We choose or chosen for us
This altar a flow of Byzantine steeples Instead of retreating inward
A dark mothy brown We can choose to see
Colors of the richest earth The fears that blind
Natural simplicity at the zenith And shut out love
A mirror that reflects back to you Or try to change by
My Daughters Altars Overcome evil with good

FREEDOM HELD BACK HALF OF ME

Summer ended with our love The other half of me
Rich in the deepness of the heart Is like the fiery glow
The clouds opened heavens gate Of the setting sun
Pounding down their tears last night His tree planted deep
Into the richest soil
Let us dry our eyes my love
The veils are destined to come down The other half of me
And we will do our share Though he be
A thousand miles away
Yes Love and freedom are held back Is ever near
So someday all of us can know The other half of me
The joyfulness of spring
The “Equality” of equal rights Love must be our guide
Our only guide
For God is Love
And Holy Love is God

IN THE SKY BURNED OUT

Running down the highway Go into the gutter
To destines unknown Go into the street
Everybody passing by See the bodies in the dust
Leaving me far behind Caused by terror and crime
Where are you’all agoing You may emerge
In those shiny speedy cars Purified by the fires
Are you off to market To enter heaven by the gate
Yourself, your life, your time Of suffering
Or are you on a joy ride
With that heady taste of speed
I can’t help but wonder as I wander
Down this old highway to the sky
So many babies will die today
Without the food one missile cost CREATIVE VIRTUE
Why worry about the unborn
When the living screams and starves! Is not union with one another
To talk and share
I wonder about God’s equal love When we put holy love first
While we refuse to share We can love even our enemies
Money, food, our clothing As part of our own natures
The comfort so many have here
Who can envision Jesus marching
Doesn’t it all belong to God Off to war with a gun in his hand
And won’t it all return? Are we to follow GOD or man?
By what we draw another breath Holy Hands open wide
By how we try to live For friend and sinners all
God chooses to work through our hands
So we might keep our free will
Travel the way of love in peace
To find those eternal mansions in the sky

BALANCING
SELF-CENTEREDNESS
TO
UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUSNESS
BALANCING

LENTS EVE
There’s nothing more beautiful than the Appalachian hills,
rivers, and streams of Tennessee
MY HOME
Except where the Redwoods steep rushing waters run
playfully into the sea
MY HOME
There’s nothing so fair they say, than the castles of France,
I don’t want to see, they hold the sins that broke apart my
Huguenot ancestors from the church of my savior J.C.
MY ANCESTRAL HOME
Home should be sweet but when it’s not, there’s God,
Who is unconditionally Holy Love, we can in mortal flesh
Only dimly “see”.
OUR ULTIMATE HOME
We’re going towards a new heaven, you and me.
Maybe I’ll ask to have, as my reward, a few small
South Sea Islands, with always calm seas, and
make it my Aloha home
MY HEAVENLY HOME
WHERE WILL YOU BE?
WHAT KIND OF HOME DO YOU SEE?
A FRIEND “IN CHRIST”
SO LONG, GOING HOME,
B.

NON-SEXIST TRANSLATION OF THE JESUS PRAYER
OUR CREATOR
WHO ARE IN HEAVEN
HOLY IS YOUR NAME
YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH
AS IT IS IN HEAVEN
GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD
AND FORGIVE US OUR SINS AS WE FORGIVE THOSE
WHO SIN AGAINST US
KEEP US FROM TEMPTATION
AND DELIVER US FROM EVIL
AMEN OR YES
(The doxology or longer ending is not found in copies
before the middle ages.)
